Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) Calculator: Estimate Your BAC in 2026
Estimate your blood alcohol content based on drinks consumed, body weight, gender, and time elapsed using the Widmark formula.
How Blood Alcohol Content Is Calculated
Uses the Widmark formula, the most widely accepted method for estimating BAC from alcohol consumption.
Widmark r factor is 0.68 for males and 0.55 for females. The body metabolizes alcohol at approximately 0.015 BAC per hour. Food slows absorption and reduces peak BAC.
How to Use the BAC Calculator
Select your gender and enter weight
BAC calculations differ by gender due to different body water content ratios.
Enter drinks consumed
Enter the number of drinks and select the type (beer, wine, spirit, or cocktail).
Enter time and food status
Specify how many hours you've been drinking and whether you ate before or during drinking.
Review your BAC estimate
See your estimated BAC, impairment level, legal status, and approximate time until BAC returns to zero.
Real-World Scenario Example
"A 180 lb male who had 3 beers over 2 hours on a partially full stomach."

Result
Peak BAC: 0.049. Current BAC after 2 hours: 0.019. Impairment: Minimal. Under the 0.08 legal limit. Sober in ~1.3 hours.
