Facebook Reels Earnings Formula

Meta retired the standalone 'Reels Play Bonus' program in most regions and folded Reels earnings into the unified Facebook Content Monetization (FCM) program (launched August 31, 2025). Reels plays are valued at an effective RPM (revenue per 1,000 plays), which is then multiplied by your monthly play volume.

Gross Monthly Earnings = (Monthly Reels Plays / 1,000) × Effective RPM
Annual Earnings Estimate = Gross Monthly Earnings × 12
Follower Eligibility = Followers ≥ 10,000 (or 5,000 in expanded beta markets)
Watch-Time Eligibility = 60-Day Watch Minutes ≥ 600,000
Upload Eligibility = Video Uploads (Last 30 Days) ≥ 5

Effective Reels RPM commonly falls between $0.02 and $0.15 per 1,000 plays for most English-language content, with higher-CPM niches (finance, B2B, insurance) occasionally exceeding $0.30. This is separate from in-stream ad RPM on longer videos, which can range from $0.50 to $8+ per 1,000 views with a 55% creator revenue share.
