Twitch Subathon Revenue & Runtime Calculator for 2026

Estimate total subathon revenue from subs, bits, and donations, plus the countdown timer runtime added by each.

Mathematical Audit

How Twitch Subathon Revenue & Runtime Is Calculated

Subathon revenue combines new subscriptions, Bits, and donations, while the countdown timer's runtime grows based on how much time is added per sub and per 100 Bits, capped at a maximum safety limit.

Total Revenue = (New Subs × Avg. Revenue Per Sub) + (Bits ÷ 100 × $1) + Donations
Time Added From Subs = New Subs × Seconds Added Per Sub
Time Added From Bits = (Bits ÷ 100) × Seconds Added Per 100 Bits
Total Runtime = Starting Hours + Time Added From Subs + Time Added From Bits
Capped Runtime = MIN(Total Runtime, Maximum Cap Hours)
Revenue Per Hour = Total Revenue ÷ Capped Runtime

Most streamers configure 60-300 seconds added per Tier 1 sub, with a hard maximum runtime cap to prevent a single large donation from locking them into an unplanned multi-week stream. Donations through third-party tools are not subject to Twitch's revenue split.

Operational Guide

How to Use the Twitch Subathon Revenue & Runtime Calculator

1

Enter your expected new subs, bits, and donations

Base these on past stream performance or announced subathon hype.

2

Set your average revenue per sub

This is your actual take-home per new sub after Twitch's revenue split, commonly $2.50-$3.00 at the standard 50/50 Tier 1 split.

3

Configure your timer settings

Set seconds added per sub and per 100 Bits, along with your starting hours and maximum runtime cap.

4

Review your results

See total projected revenue, total runtime (capped at your safety limit), and revenue per hour.

Real-World Scenario Example

"A streamer expects 500 new subs at $3 each, 20,000 Bits, and $500 in donations, adding 60 seconds per sub and 30 seconds per 100 Bits, starting at 24 hours with a 240-hour cap."

Result

Total revenue is about $2,200 ($1,500 subs + $200 bits + $500 donations). Timer growth adds roughly 8.3 hours from subs and 1.7 hours from bits, for a total runtime of about 34 hours — well under the 240-hour cap — averaging about $65/hour.
