Vacation Budget Formula
The calculator sums all per-category budgets (flights, accommodation, food & drink, activities, transport, shopping, and miscellaneous), divides by trip duration to show a daily spend rate, and optionally divides by the number of travelers for a per-person view. A 10% emergency buffer can be added to the total.
All category inputs are in your chosen display currency. The tool uses fixed indicative exchange rates for display purposes only — confirm live rates with your bank before traveling.
How to Use the Vacation Budget Planner
Set trip duration and traveler count
Enter the number of days your vacation will last and how many adults/children are traveling.
Enter flight costs
Input the total round-trip flight cost for all travelers combined.
Enter accommodation costs
Input the total hotel, Airbnb, or resort cost for the entire stay.
Fill in daily spending categories
Enter estimated daily budgets for food & drink, activities, and local transport. These will be multiplied by trip duration automatically.
Add fixed one-off costs
Include shopping, travel gear, or other one-off expenses.
Enable optional emergency buffer
Toggle a 10–20% buffer to cover unexpected costs like medical co-pays, flight delays, or price increases.
