Income Diversification Score Formula (Herfindahl-Hirschman Index)
This calculator applies the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI), a standard economic measure of market concentration, to your monthly income streams. A lower HHI means your income is spread more evenly across sources; a higher HHI means it's concentrated in one or two platforms.
An HHI below 1,500 is considered 'unconcentrated' (low risk), 1,500-2,500 is 'moderately concentrated', and above 2,500 is 'highly concentrated' (high risk), using the same thresholds U.S. antitrust regulators use to assess market concentration.
