UGC Client Revision Loop Tracker

Track UGC client revision loops, compute unpaid hourly scope creep, and calculate recommended additional fees for out-of-scope feedback rounds.

Mathematical Audit

UGC Scope Creep & Effective Rate Formula

Calculates total hours spent, actual hourly rate, target hourly value, and lost income from extra revision rounds that are unpaid or undercharged.

Total Hours = Base Project Hours + (Actual Revisions × Hours per Revision)
Actual Revenue = Base Project Rate + (Extra Revisions × Extra Revision Fee)
Effective Hourly Rate = Actual Revenue ÷ Total Hours
Lost Revenue = Max(0, (Extra Hours × Hourly Target Floor) - Extra Fees Charged)

Scope creep happens when clients request out-of-brief edits. Most industry standard packages include 1-2 minor revisions. Structural changes (re-shooting, script changes) should trigger a 50-75% reshoot fee.

Operational Guide

How to Track Revision Costs

1

Input Base Project Terms

Enter your base project rate, estimated base production hours, and the number of revision rounds included in the contract.

2

Add Actual Revision Metrics

Input the actual number of revision rounds performed, the hours spent per round, and any extra fee charged.

3

Set Target Hourly Floor

Enter your minimum desired hourly wage to determine the worth of your content production time.

4

Analyze Lost Income

Review the summary showing your drop in effective hourly rate, unpaid desk hours, and recommended change-order fees.

Real-World Scenario Example

"A creator charges a base rate of $300 for a video with 1 revision included. The client requests 3 rounds of edits, requiring 2 hours per round. The creator does the extra edits for free, with a target hourly rate of $50."

Inputs

baseRate:300
includedRevisions:1
actualRevisions:3
timeSpentBaseHours:5
timeSpentPerRevisionHours:2
chargePerExtraRevision:0
hourlyRateFloor:50

Result

Total Hours: 11. Effective Hourly Rate: $27.27 (instead of $60.00 base). Unpaid Time Value: $200 (4 hours of extra work).
